In my draft novel The Misadventures of Chad Seeking a Wife, Purple was one of Chad’s impactfully blind dates.
She was an unsuccessful painter, who made ends meet by posting OnlyFans content. Purple may be her chosen name, but the colors of her flags were all red.
After failing Chad’s Four Red Flag test, she asked whether they could be friends even if they would never have a second date. Contrary to conventional expectations, Chad refused, then explained that he is not friends with single women as they might distract his quest to find his wife. Meanwhile, he had married female friends and working relationships with women, some single.
Despite not being her friend, Chad respected her art. He commissioned two paintings from her, arranged for her to get a gallery show, and inspired her to take her art into a different direction. This collaboration allowed Purple to become a successful artist, who did not have to rely on OnlyFans funding any longer. Beyond the professional benefits, Chad helped her work with a private investigator to locate her father so she could work through her family of origin psychological issues. She later began dating that private investigator.
During their blind date, Chad judged her as not wife material for him. He intervened with help to support her working through her red flags. Purple’s one blind date with Chad changed the direction of her life. All that without Chad being her friend.
Later when Chad was in trouble due to a false accusation made by one of late Iris’ friends, Purple had his back.
