Dreaming of Stories

Since I started writing short stories, I often wake up from a dream that I know was an unknown short story that I was playing with in my mind. I have a sense of aspects from the dreamed story but not the details.

Last night’s dream: a detective and criminal are separately attempting to find a hidden wealth (monetary or information) that is lost in the local prison (either someone knows where it is or where the location is recorded) by the means of their differing vocations they attempt to use their resources and power within the prison to locate that wealth; one to solve a mystery and the other to gain it.

So, I am left with a vague general idea without details. I trust that should I need the ideas from that dreamed story that my subconscious will simply find it already formed waiting in my head.

Currently, I am a drafter and plodding editor of my own fiction stories. Looking towards the future when edited stories turn into published ones.

Here I am starting to bare my soul to give you a preview of what I have been working on.

See “Harvest of Blood” in this site’s menu bar for a preview of a draft chapter from Boudica and The Butcher, a novel set in a future Second American Civil War.
