Daughter from the Future

Drafted an initial scenario for an experimental story with the premise “Daughter from Future.” This scenario is mostly inspired by the stories of the 560+ men comedian Terrance Popp saved from self-deletion and those he could not save.

The scenario’s opening:

The liquid courage burns as it goes down your throat. After a long chug, your left hand returns the whiskey bottle to your lap. You sit alone on a folding chair in an otherwise empty room as you stare at a blank wall. The revolver feels heavy in your right hand.

After your divorce, you have lost everything including your purpose, your daughter. All that remains is to put your revolver in your mouth, then apply the pressure to the trigger that will complete your death, which the love of your life started when she filed for divorce.

Behind you a female voice begs, “Dad? It’s me, Belle. Please stop drinking and put down your gun.” You recognize your daughter’s voice, but it isn’t that of a little girl…a woman’s voice?

You turn towards the voice to see a younger version of your late mother, but the woman has the eyes of your four-year-old daughter shedding tears at the sight of you.

My background notes for the scenario are:

After losing everything, including your 4 year-old daughter Belle, in your divorce. You are about to put your revolver into your mouth then end what has become a failed life of crippling misery. Your ex-wife filed for divorce & broke apart your family because she was not happy. Now all purpose and meaning has been taken from your life by the court on behalf of the woman you trusted with your life, your now ex-wife.

At the moment before you accept your inevitable final choice, an adult Belle appears.

It is uncertain who this adult Belle really is: a drunken hallucination or a time traveler.
