Noticed that the same women who support gun control & policies to release violent criminals on the street also expect men to protect her when the consequences of her choices appear?
I didn’t intend to but drafted a short story about it; working title, “The Shanghaied Samaritan.”
A woman approaches a stranger on a lonely street & expects him to pretend to know her. She is seeking protection from a stalker. The put-upon-man asks essentially, “B-word, why you putting my life at risk by dumping your problem on me?”
The stalker approaches to demand the woman and challenges the stranger to fight like men. The Shanghaied Samaritan replies by pulling out a pistol and pointing it between the stalker’s eyes. Understanding the dynamic, the stalker runs away.
The saved woman offers her savior tears of gratitude and bromides. He mansplains how she created her own problem then put him at risk. Like a boss babe, she whines about his toxic masculinity and how she doesn’t need to be saved by someone like him because he says mean things (aka truths).
After he dismisses her, she walks down the block where the stalker takes advantage of her lack of protection. While she ineffectively pleads ‘no,’ the stalker drags her into an alley for the involuntary snuggle struggle. As the outcome seems certain, the Shanghaied Samaritan appears in the alley to put his pistol to the base of the thug’s skull. The woman obeys her protector’s command for her to run home.
As she runs down the block, she hears a gunshot echo in the alley. Turning she sees the Shanghaied Samaritan casually walking out of the alley; she is horrified that he might have ended the thug. The end.
This draft is likely a prequel for my story, to become a series, about a vet recovering from a TBI who acts as his neighborhood’s vigilante.
