Naming Therapist Characters

In drafting storied, I originally had a reoccurring archetypical character in my draft short stories named Dr. Sydney Friedman (after the shrink in M*A*S*H as initially my character was humorous and compassionate). Whenever I needed to add a generic therapist to a story, I would reuse Dr. Friedman, who was sometimes a man and other times a woman.

Since I decided that there will only be one Dr Friedman in my story universe, who is a psychiatrist in the hospital psych ward. The other instances in the drafted short stories will need to be renamed.

Dr Walton, an unconventional marriage counselor who looks like basketball player Bill Walton from the 70s, had a Dr Friedman as a partner in his office. I have decided to rename her Dr. Hodenbrecher (German for testicle breaker) as she is a stereotypical marriage counselor.

Currently, I am a drafter and plodding editor of my own fiction stories. Looking towards the future when edited stories turn into published ones.

Here I am starting to bare my soul to give you a preview of what I have been working on.

See “Harvest of Blood” in this site’s menu bar for a preview of a draft chapter from Boudica and The Butcher, a novel set in a future Second American Civil War.
