I enjoy some of the lines in my drafted story too much as it could be hard for me to edit them out if necessary. Fortunately, out-of-character post-drafting notes are simply editing guidance. As an example, after an infidelity story, I observed:
“I liked how in the story it was hard to forgive actions, but easy to forgive corrected opinions. Seems like in current year the opposite is preached: actions should be excused, while opinions are unforgivable.”
That last part should come out of a villain’s mouth, “Actions should be excused, while opinions are unforgivable.”
The true form of that statement would be like, “Actions must be judged, while opinions are to be validated against reality.”
However, judging and validating against reality are both essential when done properly, the same thing but worded particular to context.
