Tak, Chappo, and The Butcher

Tak (aka Chief), as a scout who can bring intelligence to The Butcher from Pilgerruh and identify resources that can be foraged, is becoming a reoccurring presence in my draft of Boudica and The Butcher.

At the same time, Tak is Chappo’s nephew from my draft novel _Geronimo’s Spirits_. This has brought Chappo into the time of the future Second American Civil War. Tak tells The Butcher (who had been Tak’s college professor Gideon Sheridan) about how Chappo is retired but also is spending this war raiding into Mexico to loot smugglers who are supplying the rebels along the southern border. This small exhange helped make a story happening in northern Ohio a little bigger by bringing in news of warfare in northern Mexico and New Mexico.

Maybe, just maybe, after I finish Boudica and The Butcher and Geronimo’s Spirits, there could be a short story or novella about old man Chappo leading another Apache warband into Mexico during that future civil war.

Currently, I am a drafter and plodding editor of my own fiction stories. Looking towards the future when edited stories turn into published ones.

Here I am starting to bare my soul to give you a preview of what I have been working on.

See “Harvest of Blood” in this site’s menu bar for a preview of a draft chapter from Boudica and The Butcher, a novel set in a future Second American Civil War.
