Recently, I was working on formatting chapter 13 “A Slave Conspiracy” of my draft of Boudica and The Butcher. It begins with a dream sequence in which Boudica’s subconscious attempts to process her circumstance. I made the following out of character comment within the draft:

“I like how her dream explores her inner conflict and that her feelings don’t make sense because she is conflicted. I also like the conflict between the focus of Butcher & Boudica. He is focused on the war which on face value seems like it is more important. She is focused on love, intimacy, & family. While her focus seems immature and unimportant in the story compared to his, it is hers that ultimately is truly the more important focus in life.”
