I was formatting my draft for a story about a tomboy who grew up to fall in love with her best friend. I decided to change her name as it wasn’t a tomboy name.

The male lead was already Roy from when I randomly assigned it from a list of popular male baby names.

I decided that she would be named Dale, so that the couple would be named after Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.

While she went by the name Dale, my character’s given name would be Dalena. Not sure why my subconscious keeps pushing forward names with Greek origins.
