Listening to chapter 25 of Rebels of Gor when I was surprised by the name of one of the shogun’s gardeners, Haruki, as last year I had used that name for a huntsman in my short story “Nature’s Foundling,” set in feudal Japan.

Same name for two similar characters in completely different works.

While I would have no hesitation to reuse that name from John Norman’s novel, I had not heard the reference until now as it is one of his recent novels, originally published in 2013.

Currently, I am a drafter and plodding editor of my own fiction stories. Looking towards the future when edited stories turn into published ones.
